Amythyst Fritzler

AMYTHYST FRITZLER, a native of southern California, trained at Orange Coast College before earning her BA and MA in dance from California State University, Long Beach. While at CSULB she received the Margot Fonteyn Memorial Scholarship. She became Pilates certified from Long Beach Dance and Conditioning in 2003. Amythyst teaches Pilates for fitness and rehabilitation at private Pilates studios throughout Orange County. In addition to teaching Modern dance technique, Amythyst has also taught: Conditioning for Dance, Pilates, Dance History, Restorative Yoga, Yoga, and the Performance Dance Ensemble courses at multiple colleges. She has had the pleasure of performing the works of noted choreographers in California and New York including Bradley Lindberg, Louis Cornejo, Linda Sohl-Ellison, Amelie Hunter, Damon Patrick Rago, Doug Nielsen, Sharri Brookler, Colleen Dunagan, Delyer Anderson, and Michael Nickerson-Rossi. Amythyst was a founding member of the Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company and the Assembly, and also performed with Palindrome Dance Company. Her own choreography has been presented at ACDA, Orange Coast College, Golden West Invitational, Kinesis, and Nectar dance performances. Amythyst is honored to have had the opportunity to mentor students for the Young Choreographers Project.
